BOSTON -- In the waning minutes of a ho-hum opening period, the Bruins scored two goals in less than a minute for a 2-0 lead against the Hurricanes at TD Garden.
By the fan reaction after those two quick goals, you would never know the Bruins are the worst team in the Eastern Conference and on the verge of officially being eliminated from the playoffs.
This season has been one of the worst in the post-expansion era, and the Bruins are also riding a 10-game losing skid. However, these fans still get excited despite all the adversity they've dealt with this season, which is just another example why Boston is a hockey hotbed.
