Not the least bit surprised they didn't get a top 3 - it's the Coyotes! But, the way last season ended, i'm ok with #5.

I still don't get the NHL odds math. How does a team have the 3rd worst points yet have the highest percentage of getting the #5 spot??

Sucks that we dropped, especially since I really liked the top 4 in the draft. With that being said, if the draft breaks like most people expect, we should at least have our choice of whoever we believe is the second best Defenseman in the draft.

We at @TheAthleticNHL did a mock draft for the first 15 picks of the #2018NHLDraft. I picked for four teams:
2. Canes: Svechnikov
5. Coyotes: Hughes
9. Rangers: Kotkaniemi
15. Panthers: Lundestrom

Wow...more then a 90% chance at winding up with picks 11-13, and they pull in the #2 with a 3% chance! Good system, reward a just missed playoff team?! Do a lottery with the 6 worst teams and cut it off there. Everyone else gets slotted in.
