NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said the league is looking into whether San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York will be punished for violating the league's personal conduct policy after he was caught in a prostitution sting in Ohio.

Matt Maiocco on whether Jed York will sell the team and possible discipline from the NFL for his arrest:

“I can’t see that. Jed bought equity from his mom in order to become the principal owner. Yes, the 49ers raised a lot of money by selling off around 9.7% of the organization, but when they transferred ownership officially over to Jed as the principal owner, the idea was this was a move made to ensure that it remained in the family. I would imagine the long term plan is for Jed to hand it over to one of his sons or keep it in the family. I don’t think this [arrest] will impact that.

I think that there will be some discipline by commissioner Roger Goodell. I think it can happen sooner rather than later because the legal process has run its course. I would expect a fine and even a suspension, where he has to stay away from the team for a certain amount of time.”via:

Just saw something and I do not know if it was a joke or real since the disappeared as I was trying to grab the link. It said York's defense was this was his FF punishment for coming last.

Michael Irvin defends 49ers owner Jed York to N3on after his arrest:

“He got divorced 5-6 months ago so I’m like 'Man, come on. Is that really a crime?' Let that man go. Leave it alone… Everybody’s paying for it. You take her out to eat, you’re paying for it. Everybody’s paying for it. So what are we doing? Why we gotta embarrass this man for 140 dollars? People think 'You’re a billionaire, why didn’t you go to high end places?'. The high end places get you in trouble all the time.”

That cracks me up... but he is kinda sorta right.

I mean honestly...in my opinion,...I think it should be totally legal... taxable...

the trick is to go after and eliminate the situations that involve minors or those being held against their will.

But basic "Prostitution"??... its strictly a business transaction between consenting adults.
Take away the illegality of it all and it can be made safer...because the criminality is what makes it dangerous

Can't stand Irving but I see your point Oaken. Comedian Jim Jeffries is from Australia and talked about how they legalized prostitution. Safer and cleaner for everyone involved but also lowered the divorce rate.

right?? Basic health checkups should be covered by insurance.

I aint gonna lie...I have mixed feelings on it.. On one side, I am kinda old fashioned and a bit of a prude in that I automatically "look down" on a person who makes themselves so available... but then again I respect a woman who will do whatever she needs to do to support her kids and such..and in the end..its consenting adults, thats the basic logic of it...

so no matter how confused I may be on the morality of it...adults...consenting...my body my choice...nunya business... ditch the pimps..get medical care...remove trafficking from the equation

#49ers principal owner Jed York has been suspended for six regular-season games and fined $500,000 for violating the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy, the NFL announced today.

During the time the league’s investigation has been proceeding, York has stayed away from the 49ers first three regular-season games, as well as from NFL league meetings. Those three missed games are counted toward his suspension, and he may return on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
