On Tuesday, March 25, news broke that the New England Patriots are set to sign star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to a three-year contract worth $69,000,000.
NFL insider Adam Schefter was the first to announce the Patriots' agreement with Diggs, which will take one of the league's top players off the free-agent market.
Diggs is among the NFL's most exciting pass-catchers and should be expected to play a major role in New England's offense next season.
Before signing with the Patriots, Diggs played for the Houston Texans, Buffalo Bills, and Minnesota Vikings. He earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2020 and has been selected to participate in the Pro Bowl four times.
New England's decision to sign Diggs could prove to be a particularly consequential development ahead of the 2025 NFL draft next month. With Diggs under contract, the Patriots may look to add a talented prospect to their defense in the early rounds instead of a wide receiver.
