The Green Bay Packers won’t be playing on Christmas Day after all.
There appeared to be a good chance of the Packers being part of NFL's Christmas schedule in 2025 based on early returns of their schedule.
But the Packers can take the holiday off and will have to settle for just playing on Thanksgiving.
Instead, two of their divisional rivals get the honor. Netflix, which is streaming two Christmas Day games, announced its matchups for the holiday ahead of the official schedule release on May 14.

The slate includes the reigning NFC North champion Detroit Lions taking on the Minnesota Vikings in the late afternoon slot. The two teams met in the final regular-season game last year with the division title on the line.
An NFC East matchup featuring the Dallas Cowboys and upstart Washington Commanders kicks the day off on Christmas in the other Netflix game.
The Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs will wrap up the day in primetime with their game on Amazon Prime Video.
The Lions, Cowboys and Chiefs are all playing on both Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Packers aren't shut out of holidays, though, in 2025. They're playing for a third straight year on Thanksgiving.
They'll meet the Lions for the second time in three years on Thanksgiving at noon Thursday, Nov. 27. In 2023, Green Bay stunned the Lions, 29-22, at Ford Field as they began a late-season push toward the playoffs.
The Packers also cruised to a 30-17 win over the Miami Dolphins last year on Thanksgiving night at Lambeau Field.
