The Seattle Seahawks are gearing up for a Week 6 road showdown against a 4-1 team from the state of Florida this weekend, but they won't be the only NFC West team to do so. Seattle's top rivals, the San Francisco 49ers, will be traveling to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers. However, it appears they will once again be rolling with their backup signal caller.
Brock Purdy, who has only played in two games - against the Seahawks and Jaguars - looks like he will be OUT again in Week 6. ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Purdy was a non-participant at practice. This of course puts Mac Jones in the driver's seat to get the start.
Mac Jones has been a key surprise this season. The cast-off former Patriots and Jaguars quarterback is now 3-0 in his three starts this year, including a massive overtime road win over the Rams last week on Thursday Night Football. Ironic, isn't it? Brock Purdy earned his job due to injuries to Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo. Now the cycle continues, and Jones is now the Niners backup to look outstanding playing in Kyle Shanahan's system.
Jones has thrown for 905 yards this season, along with six touchdown passes against only one interception. Still, the Buccaneers will be his toughest challenge yet. The 12th Man is going to have to shift from rooting against the Bucs last week, to rooting them on on Sunday.

49ers QB Brock Purdy also not practicing today due to his toe injury, putting Mac Jones on track to start Sunday at Tampa.
