Dane Brugler, The Athletic, has posted his newest mock draft. He has the Cards taking Devonte Wyatt, DL, in round 1 and Breece Hall, Iowa St RB, in round 2. If he has the order right I’d take Christian Watson, WR N. Dakota St, instead. Brugler has him going 52nd to KC. My hope have long been evaporated for getting Jermaine Johnson, who goes with the tenth pick. I should be flattered since I had him way before he got hot, but I’d rather the Cards got the player. Hall has the potential to be special. However, he needs to hit the hole quicker and he has some tread wear. I’d rather have Conner and take another back later if needed. Wyatt is a solid pick who fills a major need.

Hall won't make it to us in 2nd. He's a stud and very high character. Watched him at ISU. No injuries but a lot of mileage on the tires. He'd fit any offense. The team that gets him will love him

Could be the biggest reason he falls to our vicinity.

i like the Wyatt pick -- the Cards have a clear need for an impact front 5 ( edge + DL positions) player

Rest assured that what ever 1st round linebacker he drafts will not play the position he played in in college.

Wyatt might not be Davis but he played a big part in that Georgia defense being special. I like it.

Hall had 718 carries at Iowa State.

Jonathon Taylor had 926 at Wisconsin.

Both of them in 3 years.
That’s accurate but Taylor is very unusual. 718 is a heavy load. Walker, MSU, had only 480 attempts.

Wyatt being 24 before the season & coming from a super loaded front. Ehhhh nah.
I am also leery of college players who need to be 3 years older than their peers to dominate. Dude entering the league I year younger than Zach Allen whose rookie contract is almost up.

Wyatt, in his rookie year, will be older than Jalen Thompson is entering his 4th season.

Can't see a downside to entering the League at a point where he's approaching his physical maturity.

If one gets 5 years of good service from him, I can't see the downside.
