Nebraska football reloaded its 2025 roster with a Top 12 transfer portal class and another Top 20 recruiting class
AP Photos
As the current landscape of college football continues to shift and evolve, it can be hard to keep up with everything, especially inside a program as jam-packed and constantly moving as Nebraska football.
That includes team rosters and what the scholarship distribution looks like under the new 105-man roster limits across the sport. Every team in the country is going to have a steady stream of players coming in and going out. Everyone’s goal, however, is the same: Just be at the 105-man scholarship mark by the time the 2025 season kicks off.
With that in mind, the chart below is a rundown of the Huskers' 2025 team roster. This is their current rosterfor the 2025 season. It is not a list of Nebraska's official 105-man scholarship roster. Rather, it is the roster recently updated on the team's official website following the Huskers' signing of 20 high school recruits in the Class of 2025 and adding 15 players out of the transfer portal.
Those 35 new additions this offseason put Nebraska at the No. 13 spot in Rivals' 2025 Comprehensive Team Rankings behind the No. 12 transfer class and the No. 18 recruiting class in those respective rankings. In the Big Ten, the Huskers are No. 4 in the comprehensive rankings behind the conference's No. 1 transfer class and the No. 5 recruiting class.
The players' positions and classes are unofficial and taken from the team's website. In the case of the Huskers' 2025 signees, there are a few that are our best educated guesses as to the position where they will begin their college careers before some inevitable shifting around – either on offense, defense or even a flip from one side of the ball to the other.
As changes become public, this chart will be updated. Nebraska will have until August 2025 to whittle down its roster count to 105 players.
Roster Notes:
>> We have Heinrich Haarberg listed at QB on the chart below. Matt Rhule revealed in December that Haarberg will be switching to full-time tight end – which is the position he played in the Huskers' bowl game win over Boston College – for the 2025 season. Since Haarberg is still listed at QB on the team website, however, we still have him listed at QB as well.
>> In addition, we have Jaidyn Doss and Roger Gradney still listed at DB since that remains both players' position on the official team roster. Inside Nebraska has confirmed, however, that Doss has moved back to WR, and Gradney has moved to inside linebacker.
>> Scroll past the 2025 roster list to get a look at the Huskers' transfer additions and departures this offseason. Excluding the 31 players from the Huskers' 2024 roster who entered the transfer portal, there are 11 additional players who are no longer listed on the team's 2025 roster.
>> The two most notable names no longer listed are WR AlexBullockand FB BarretLiebentritt. The other nine no longer listed:
FB Trevor Ruth
WR ElliottBrown
OL Joey Mancino
LB GrantBuda
LB Danny Pasko
DB Blake Closman
DB Taveon Thompson
DB Cooper Wilson
LS Camden Witucki
