BREAKING: The NBA is targeting the 2027-28 season for when future expansion teams will begin playing games. Sounds like it will be TWO expansion teams… what cities should get a team?

That would make the most sense

That would also allow Memphis and Minnesota to slide to the east where they belong

The NBA is expanding no doubt, but I haven't seen it announced today from a trusted source.

This article is much better, and accessible. It lists Seattle, Vegas, and Mexico City as potential cities that could come into play. I didn't realize there was a billionaire family already calling for an expansion, which puts some pressure on Silver and the league. Say he pays $1 billion or more to start a team, likely double or even triple that considering what the Suns cost for Ishbia. $2 billion gives almost $50 million to every owner, so I'm sure it's a matter of waiting for a vote to be called.
