The New York Knicks own a 3-2 lead over the Detroit Pistons in their first-round matchup, but with the series heading to Detroit for Game 6, there is a very real chance that this series could go the distance.

In the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets are the favorites to go seven games, and every other Eastern Conference series has already been decided.

The start dates for the next round have already been revealed.

Regardless of who wins the series or when, either the Knicks or Pistons will take on the Boston Celtics in the second round starting on May 5. Game 7 of this series is scheduled for May 3, and Game 1 of the next round will be in Boston, so unless the Knicks can end the series on Thursday, expect minimal rest.

The dates for the next round are May 5th, 7th, 10th, 12th, 14th, 16th, and 19th, with the winner of the series advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals to take on either the Cleveland Cavaliers or Indiana Pacers.

While Knicks' fans would like to be able to look ahead to the Boston matchup, the reality is that New York hasn't yet finished the job, and the young Pistons, despite already exceeding their preseason expectations, feel like they have a lot to prove.

A possibly decisive Game 6 will tip off tomorrow night at 7:30 PM EST, with coverage broadcast on TNT, streamed on Max.
