Shane van Gisbergen extended his road course win streak to five by claiming the NASCAR Charlotte Roval race on Oct. 5.
Van Gisbergen dominated the latter part of the race in the Trackhouse Racing No. 88 Chevrolet while earning a place in the next round of the playoffs.
He led for 57 laps of the Bank of America Roval 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The rookie also won at Mexico City, Chicago, Sonoma and Watkins Glen in 2025.
Van Gisbergen is one win away from tying the all-time consecutive road course race wins record set by Jeff Gordon in 2000.
Kyle Larson, who led for 27 laps, was second, Christopher Bell was third, Chris Buescher was fourth and Michael McDowell was fifth.
Denny Hamlin and Ross Chastain made contact on the last lap and Chastain ended up spinning around and backing across the finish line. Chastain finished 21st, which was not enough to advance in the playoffs, while Hamlin was 23rd and did make it to the next round.
