First half of this had some solid chuckles, second half lost a good deal of steam.
Also felt a little more like a combo Austin Powers/Naked Gun spoof, with then shamelessly ripping off some Powers gags, that nonetheless were pretty funny.
But the biggest difference in this compared to the OG ZAZ crew was when there’s a big comic setpiece, the ZAZ’s knew how to keep building and building jokes and then would go to the edge and jump… sometimes they’d crash, but most times the setpiece flew even. This one seemed to get to the edge repeatedly but then step back when it was time to take that leap of faith in the material and that the audience would follow.
