Let me throw a Marty curveball at you along with those... AFTER HOURS. It is NOTHING like his other movies, but is sheer brilliance in it's asburditist take on NY in the 80's.

Holy schnikes!!! That's a Scorsese film?! I remember seeing that movie back in college in the 80's. I thought it was really funny, but I had no idea who directed it. I'll have to go back and watch it again.

Rewatched this one. Wow, still brilliant. One of my rare 10s on IMDB.

i haven't watched scarface,

is it good?

what about casino?

Absolutely. Both are epic films.

Ha! This is one of my favorite scenes in film history:

The "How am I funny?" scene is based on something that actually happened to Joe Pesci. While working in a restaurant, a young Pesci apparently told a mobster that he was funny, a compliment that was met with a less-than-enthusiastic response. Pesci relayed the anecdote to Martin Scorsese, who decided to include it in the film. Scorsese didn't include the scene in the shooting script, so that Pesci and Ray Liotta's interactions would elicit genuinely surprised reactions from the supporting cast.

Scarface is a damn cartoon. It’s so over the top it’s laughable, but it’s still a must watch just because it’s such a big part of pop culture

Goodfellas is a damn masterpiece. This movie gets quoted more among my friends than any other movie by far

Karen that’s all we had!!!

AMC’s ‘Goodfellas’ Trigger Warning Due To “Cultural Stereotypes” Sparks Backlash

“The f–king political correctness has f–king taken everything away,” said Bo Dietl (who played a police officer in Goodfellas) to the Post. “This is how life was back then. It was not a clean beautiful thing. You can’t cleanse history. If you want to tell true history, you gotta tell it the way it is.”

Michael Franzese, who portrayed a one-time captain of the Colombo crime family, said he found the message amusing. “We don’t need anyone protecting mob guys. It’s crazy,” he said.

Lol… a two second title card, that doesn’t change anything in the actual film, HAS TAKEN EVERYTHING AWAY BECAUSE OF POLITICAL CORRECTNESS!

Save your outrage for something that actually matters… like Harrison Jr and Fanatics which is a “HUGE” story!!!

LOL I haven't even said a thing about the Goodfellas trigger warning. Those quotes are from people who were actually in the movie.

When both my sons were born I told them in the delivery room. " life is tough, it's hard, the world is unforgiving. You gotta be strong and I got your back if you need me"

That was all the trigger warning they needed.

Love it.

So sad that there are so many triggered by so many things anymore.

I always heard that life is 10 percent what happens to you and 90 percent how you react to it.

Yeah, I'll go ahead and put a pause on this trigger warning nonsense. Do some overuse it and try to mitigate every single thing in life? Sure, and that's not what trigger warnings are truly meant for. As a mental health professional, it's the only decent thing to do to warn someone about potentially harmful material. Imagine going into a movie without warning about flashing lights and having a seizure because of it? Or describing to female a rape victim a brutal attack by a man on a woman? The examples are endless.

The '50s mentality of "suck it up, buttercup," or "life sucks, get a helmet," or the old Army adage, "suck it up and drive on," aren't universal wisdom. In life, that's often exactly what you need to do, sure, but the kindness of others or others using simple common sense and decency can mitigate that. Only insensitive people who don't give a damn about anyone or anything other than themselves never, ever consider what triggers people.

Okay, carry on :)

Lol… the guy triggered by a two second title card, that literally changes nothing about the movie, laments about how sad it is that others are triggered so easily. My lord dude, have some semblance of self awareness.

I posted about the title card. I wasn't triggered by it personally. There's a big difference. I think it is pathetic that people are triggered by so much. Pretty consistent in that.
