from our favorite site..profootballtalk..quote:

and one league source offered this nugget to Emmitt: "Good luck with that sieve they call an offensive line."

another quote from someone who knows nothing about the cardinals..pick on our receivers, d line or something..our offensive line is better than most (if healthy). Kendall, davis, shelton and clement (if he is every healthy) would start for most teams..

Agreed! If this line we have can:

1) Get a starter-level center (sorry, but Starkey or Garcia just don't qualify in my book)

and

2) Stay healthy, as a unit, for more than four games

this could become THE top O-Line in the league!

As is, our O-Line is a top ten unit, when healthy of course, and our depth is outstanding at this point (please re-sign Fina!)

Good post.

IMO, the Cards have horses on their O-line.

However, like most teams, the Cards will have to establish their passing game for their running game to flourish. Otherwise, teams will stack the line of scrimmage, running "8 men in the box", and stop any running game.

I am more skeptical about the Cards receiving threats (or lack thereof) than I am their offensive line. It was a typical remark by one of many who really don't pay any attention to the Cardinals.

If the Cards either aquire a good #1 receiver (trade for Marcus Robinson), or one of those on the roster develops, their running game will do fine. With whomever lines up in the backfield. Personally, I would prefer it be Shipp. But, if it is Smith, and he has success, good.

I personally feel that if we can get a couple of good wr's we have a potentially potent offense

Another aspect about the wr's is....If you have a team with fast, young, inexperienced receivers, what is the best situation to put them in????

Give them a qb who can throw the deep ball...blake....and give them a line with a couple of good rb's (shipp, smith) to bash the ball. A good huge blocking fb does wonders as well.

That said, I'm not content with our wr position, but with what we have, we have set them up to succeed the best way possible, matching their potentially limited strengths with the strengths of our qb, and other offensive players.

Of course, we have yet to see sullivan's offense yet.

But like mcginnis said, we have quite a few possibilities to pick up a few wr's that could help us. June 1st, draft, what's out there now, and our own in sanders and jenkins. Whatever way you slice it, our depth at the wr will be filled imo before the season, the star quality we may have to work on. We may have to wait a year or 2.

But I feel we are closer than we think. I really like Kasper...reminds me of a young rickey proehl. Gilmore and Mcaddley could surprise this year. It seems we are stocked with potential 2nd-4th wr's...we just need a 1...although I would never mind more.

Iam going to look at this years WR corp, the way I did at last year's HB spot, I had no hope in Shipp, Jones, Anderson and Scobey, but this year I trust them greatly, plus with the addition of Smith this is the new teams strength, I hope these young aggressive WR's prove as wrong and giving them praise come next season
