MLB Catches Attention With Major Aaron Judge Announcement originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
On Tuesday, Major League Baseball formally announced its monthly award winners, and once again, the honors hinged on two of the sport’s brightest stars.
Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees claimed the American League Player of the Month for May, while Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers took home the National League Player of the Month nod.
In May, Judge led all qualified hitters with a staggering 1.251 OPS, slashing .364/.453/.798 across 26 games. He launched 11 home runs and piled up 2.2 wins above replacement (fWAR), according to FanGraphs.
For Judge, this marks his fourth consecutive season earning the AL Player of the Month for May, highlighting a stretch of dominance that few hitters in the modern era can rival.
"Is there really any other choice?" said one fan.
"Down month for Judge," joked another user.
"Ohtani Judge," replied one other fan.
"MVP x MVP," responded another user.
"crazy that .364 is a down month for Judge," commented one other fan.
"Ohtani and Judge are leading today's MLB. I'm so happy to be able to watch these two play in real time ," another commenter replied.

Drafted 32nd overall by the Yankees in 2013 after a standout college career at Fresno State, Judge debuted in the majors on August 13, 2016.
In his rookie year (2017), he roared onto the scene by hitting 52 home runs, a new MLB rookie record at the time, earning unanimous AL Rookie of the Year honors and finishing second in MVP voting.
Since then, Judge’s trophy case has grown to include two AL MVP Awards (2022 and 2024), six All-Star selections (2017, 2018, 2021-2024), and multiple Silver Slugger and Hank Aaron Awards.
