But he loves his players, so much that he gives them 2 days off a week cuz playing baseball is so hard. Whoever the genius is that pussified all the pitchers in the farm system, spring training and during the season has stock in Tommy John Surgeries or something. Torrey manages like he is in a little league. Here is an idea, if you bring in a BP guy and it looks like he is on, how about leaving him in for 2 innings? his micro approach is pathetic and outside of the lucky WS run is a career loser in AZI'm calling it...Time of Death...4:04 pm, 06/28/25. The 2025 DBacks went gently and quietly into the night. Torey should be on the next slow boat to China.
This stretch right here should cement them sellers for this year.Back to .500 on the season. 4-4 in this stretch against the Rockies, White Sox, and Marlins. 4-5 after tomorrow. Pathetic.
Agreed. Hazen needs to sell at the deadline. The question is: what is there to sell? This stretch right here should cement them sellers for this year.
I would say Geno, Gurriel and Gallen off the top of my head. Although the way Gallen has pitched this way they might not get the return they like. As much as I hate to say it Merrill Kelly will probably get some interest as well-as much as it pains me to say as in a big Merrill fan.Agreed. Hazen needs to sell at the deadline. Naylor could get a return also.I would say Geno, Gurriel and Gallen off the top of my head. Although the way Gallen has pitched this way they might not get the return they like. I should have said: What is there to sell that the DBacks don't want to keep: Gallen is in that category, perhaps Naylor too. Not sure about Geno, Gurriel, or Kelly. Depends on what kind of roster Hazen wants to build for next year in order to become competitive in the NL West.Naylor could get a return also.
Nailor & Gallen need to be sold, Suarez... maybe flip over to 1B? They need to shyt or get off the pot with Lawler and play him at 3rd to see if he will ever be an MLB player. Gurriel can be moved also....This stretch right here should cement them sellers for this year.
Regardless of injuries, this bullpen would be a ton better if the starters could routinely get through 6 innings. Every single one of them has mid inning issues and that's taxing the bullpen.Last night’s game is really the perfect illustration of what this team is. Riddled with injuries and using glue & duct tape to try to win games… at the major league level, that’s a recipe for mediocrity at best.
I’d be shocked if Torey survives this extremely unlucky and disappointing season. But…the injuries aside, yesterday they were outscored 5 - 0 after the 6th inning… Thomas and Gurriel continue to hurt this team at the plate.
This Dbacks team is such an anomaly as they’re top-tier in total runs scored, yet this season has been plagued with long stretches in games without scoring. And when the other team is putting up runs, especially later in games, this team has come up empty a ton this year.
I don’t care how “great” people think Thomas is in the field, he kills this team at the plate. A starting CF with a sub-300 OBP? Just brutal…
They’re gonna have to be sellers this year and try to build a winning team for the next 2-3 years.
Gallen, Thomas, Gurriel, Suarez and Naylor all need to be sold off. Hazen will need to work some magic to ensure we get back a basket of talent that can offer the strong potential for success in the coming years. Along with a few smart FA signings in the offseason, 2026-2028 could be interesting. But of course, this assumes Burnes, JMart and Puk all return to their pre-injury form…
Should be interesting to see how management maneuvers thru these stormy seas…
@Chris_Sanders has been preaching this all season.Dbacks starters all nibble and pitch for strikeouts, which drives up their pitch counts...they rally need to pitch to contact and start conserving their arms and extending their starts.
Regardless of the outcome, Torey should be embarrassed to trot Rodriguez out there for the 6th. He absolutely doesn't learn any lessons...almost like he wants to be fired.E-Rod threw 98 pitches in 5 innings, yet only allowed one run on four hits.
I have to assume we have to suffer through 4 innings of the bullpen
Yup - shocked he wasRegardless of the outcome, Torey should be embarrassed to trot Rodriguez out there for the 6th. He absolutely doesn't learn any lessons...almost like he wants to be fired.
