I hope we end up passing the ball all over the place and save Connor. Keep him to 12-15 runs a game as a max. Use Benson for 4-5 runs per game. I want to make sure our RB room is healthy at the end of the season because to win playoff games.... you have to run the ball effectively with play action to be successful. Having a dominating defense won't hurt either.

Oh yeah, stop the McLaurin talk. That ain't going to happen.

The real question is do you really expect the top 3 WRs to combine for 2400+ receiving yards and 16 TDs? The 2024 WR room produced 1775 yards and 15 TDs.

I don't see how that number tops 2100 yards next year, but I expect the TD number to go down because I expect McBride to score more than 2 receiving TDs.
Apples and Oranges. No point in discussing stats. Different teams and completely different schemes.

2025 team will never match the 2021 in passing yards. 2021 will never match the 2025 team in rushing and ball control.

The 2021 team was more explosive and far better passing, hence my original comment of having a higher ceiling. The 2025 team is more founded and have better overall depth, hence my comment on higher floor.

The top 2 RBs for the 2021 Cards had 1344 rushing yards and 17 rushing TDs
The top 2 RBs for the 2025 Cards had 1385 rushing yards and 9 rushing TDs.

That is definitely a concern but you should be comparing 2020 to last year not 2021.

The top 2 RBs for the 2020 Cardinals had 1401 rushing yards and 11 tds. (8-8 record)
The top 2 RBS for the 2024 Cardinals had 1385 rushing yards and 9 tds. (8-9 record)

Once again the correlation is insane.

2021 was so much better because that was Connor's first year with the team.

Drake was the leading rusher in 2020.

They consider last season 2024 btw just to be clear.

Kingsbury's 3rd year calling the offense was his most successful (2021). Now here we are with Gannon and Petzing.

3rd down conversion %

Kliff's offense

2019: 36%

2020: 39%

2021: 45%

Petzing's offense

2023: 39%

2024: 43%

2025: ?

Yes. they had Warner at QB but when we went to the Super Bowl, we had Fitz and Boldin. Yeah, we have McBride but they would have never made that Super Bowl with just one dynamic WR. Harrison is no Fitz, at least not close yet, and Wilson is no Q

To the point that they’re arguably one of the top 3 WRs in the entire game… which is what Hopkins was.

I mean… you really EXPECT Harrison to be a top 3 WR in the entire league this year?
That's what he was drafted for. There's no reason we can't anticipate that kind of stature, but so much of it hinges on Petzing and Kyler. It's a jump for sure, but for all of the talk about "generational talent", expectations have to at some point line up with the production.

i dont know if its McLaurin or somebody else

but if Gannon is thinking that Monti is following the Eagles plan -- Howie acquired AJ Brown in 2023, after taking Devonta Smith in round 1 2021, and, after whiffing on Jalen Reagor* in 2020

*proof even the best GMs botch picks

Adding a good WR makes too much sense. It could make us pretty darn good.
