Anyone see this? It is fantastic. I mentioned this in the Hobbit thread. The basic premise is Sherlock and Watson in the 21st century. Very entertaining show.

I haven't watched it yet but I'm looking forward to it. The DVD's were reasonably priced so I've had them on pre-order and I think they come out next week. The description of Holmes sounds like he functions like The Mentalist with the personality of House.

I don't watch those other shows so I don't know if the comparison is good but he is quite twitchy. The first scene he was in I didn't like him, but over the episode he grew on me. I read it is only 3 episodes and the DVD has the unaired pilot but they are trying to get everyone back on board for more episodes because it has been a big success. Hopefully Watson can find time to get out of Middle Earth for a little bit.

It's 461 minutes. That would make for some very long episodes if there's only 3 but regardless, it was only 23 bucks so I'll give it a try. In hindsight, I wish I had spent 4 dollars more and bought the blu-ray version.

Seems like a good show. Only time I sat down to watch Masterpiece was "I, Claudius" the 1977 show on the Roman Empire. But that was nearly twenty years ago, as a teen! Shows you how old I am LOL!

Final episode was just outstanding. I absolutely loved the way they wrote and the actor played Moriarty. Real glad to know they will have a second season, hopefully with more episodes, because of the way they ended this season. For those who didn't see these you can watch them on Masterpiece Mystery's website.

Highly recommend watching.

I just finished watching the first of this 3 episode season. Terrific show. Well paced and a lot of fun. I was really looking forward to the Hobbit movies. After watching this episode, I'm just hoping Freeman's schedule as Bilbo doesn't slow down production on season 2. I'm sure there are people out there that won't enjoy this show but I don't want to know them.

It's streaming on netflix, now...at least, I think it's the same on you guys are talking about. I don't see it labeled as "masterpiece theater" anywhere.

Watson is an Afgan war vet, right? That one? Well, at any rate, that's the one I'm really enjoying so far.

Thats the one. It ran on PBS under the Masterpiece Theater label. I believed it was financed by PBS and BBC.

I liked the first two episodes. Then I lost interest.

I'm trying to follow you here. You liked the first two episodes but then you lost interest. Did you lose interest after watching the first two episodes that you liked or did you watch the season ending 3rd episode and then lose interest? Was this just Mullispeak for I liked the first 2 episodes but didn't care for the 3rd?

Anyone know when the next season will start and if it will be any longer? I really enjoyed this show.

I read online somewhere it will again be three 90 minutes episodes and one of them is going to be based on the Hound of the Baskervilles. I would imagine it will air around the same time as last season.

I liked the episode with the taxi driver. I didn't care for the one with the Asian gang people. I lost interest after that.

2nd season just ended. Loved Moriarty in this yet again. This last episode was my favorite of the 6 they have done.
