Green Bay Packers shareholders will see a rare change in leadership when they attend this year's annual meeting.
Mark Murphy will attend his last shareholders meeting as president and CEO of the Packers, and Ed Policy will attend his first in his new role as leader of the organization. Policy was chosen as Murphy's successor in June 2024.
The meeting is scheduled for 3 p.m. July 25 in the Lambeau Field bowl. It is the first shareholders meeting to be held on a Friday in recent memory and the second in two years to be held after the start of training camp, which is scheduled to begin on July 23.
Policy will be the 11th CEO of the Green Bay Packers. Murphy was elected president and CEO in December 2007. He succeeded Bob Harlan, who was named president and CEO in 1989.
Policy, 54, joined the Packers in 2012 as general counsel. He was promoted to chief operating officer, essentially the No. 2 person in the organization, in 2018. He was responsible for overseeing development of the Packers' Titletown district west of Lambeau Field. He joined Murphy in representing the Packers at league meetings and led the organization's communications, marketing and fan engagement, sales and business development, security, and development, and hospitality departments.
The Packers are the only team in the NFL owned by fans. The organization has more than 539,000 shareholders owning about 5.2 million shares. Proxy materials will be sent to shareholders in mid-June. The annual meeting consists of reports by Murphy and General Manager Brian Gutekunst, a financial report, and reports by various committee leaders. Policy also might speak at this meeting.
Last year, the team reported a record $654.1 million in revenue for the 2023-24 fiscal year. It reported profit from operations of $60 million and net income of $98.1 million. The year before, revenue was $610 million, profit from operations was $68.6 million, and net income was $35.3 million.
The Packers traditionally release financial details in the week before the meeting.

Policy, Timothy M. Bergstrom of Bergstrom Automotive and Laurie A. Butz of Capital Credit Union were nominated for the board of directors. Leaving the 42-member board this year are Mark Murphy and Will Kress, both of whom reached the mandatory retirement age of 70.
Bergstrom is the president and CEO of Bergstrom Automotive of Wisconsin, a position he assumed in 2021. He joined the company in 1999. Butz is president and CEO of Capital Credit Union in Green Bay, also since 2021.
