SIOUX FALLS — Seven northeastern South Dakota seniors competed in the South Dakota Basketball Coaches-Sanford All-Star Basketball games on Sunday, May 11, 2025, in the Sanford Pentagon.
Team White posted a 93-80 win over Team Blue in the girls' game and Team Blue won the boys' game 116-107 over Team White.
Mya Kochuten of Spearfish tallied 21 points, Grace Peterson of Sioux Falls Washington 16 and Logan Smidt of Brookings 14 to lead Team White to victory.
Area standout Krista Langager of Sisseton added 12 points for Team White.
Vermillion's Brooke Jensen poured in 24 points for Team Blue, which also got 11 points from Madala Hanson of Dell Rapids St. Mary and 10 from Bella Williams of Kadoka Area.
Keyra Kruse of Sioux Valley, another area player, added eight points for Team Blue.
Julius Frog of Rapid City Christian poured in 26 points and Gilbert White Jr. of Rapid City Central added 21 to propel Team Blue to its win.
Bryon Laue of state Class B champion Castlewood led area players for Team Blue with 18 points. Evan Stormo of state Class A runner-up Hamlin added 11, Carson Vavruska of Florence-Henry and Noah Kippley of Leola-Frederick Area each five and Maverick Nelson of Sioux Valley three.
Shawn Hammerbeck of Winner notched 16 points and Ben Brooks of Madison 14 to pace Team White. Area players Easton Neuendorf of Hamlin and Jamison Keszler of Castlewood added 12 and seven, respectively.
Nicholas Hanson of Viborg-Hurley also contributed 10 points for Team Blue. Devin Buehler of Hill City added 13, Ryan Heinert of Sturgis 11 and Benson Kieffer of Rapid City Christian 10 for Team White.
