Don’t expect to see Malcolm Rodriguez for a while.

Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell said Thursday, June 5, that he didn’t expect the linebacker to be available to play the first two months of the 2025 season.

“Conservatively November,” he said, when asked to give a timetable for Rodriguez’s return. “Somewhere in there.”

Rodriguez tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee last November during a 23-20 victory over the Chicago Bears.

A former sixth-round pick in 2022, Rodriguez made 15 starts as a rookie and nine total the past two seasons. He has produced 151 tackles, three sacks and forced two fumbles during his career.

Rodriguez, 26, is in the final year of his contract. During this offseason, the Lions have added reinforcements at linebacker — signing Grant Stuard at the dawn of free agency in March and Zach Cunningham in late May.
