The Carolina Panthers looked to desperately need help on defense heading into the 2025 NFL Draft and they seemed to buck that notion by giving Bryce Young a brand new weapon to throw to in Arizona receiver Tetairoa McMillan with the eight overall selection.
McMillan is a stand out receiver who dominates one on one coverage and was downright uncoverable all of the 2024 college football season. The Panthers needed to give more help to franchise quarterback Bryce Young, and by taking the second best receiver in the class they land a special talent at the position. It's a bit head scratching they did not take their pick of defensive stars here, but landing receiver help was important for this front office.
