It's now official: Aidan Hutchinson and Jameson Williams are locked into the Lions through the 2026 NFL season.

On the morning after the first day of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Lions exercised the fifth-year options on the rookie contracts of Hutchinson and Williams. They were each eligible as first-round picks in 2022.

Lions GM Brad Holmes had indicated recently that the team was going to pick up the fifth-year options. Hutchinson will earn $19,872,000 while Williams will get $15,493,000. The values are predetermined by the NFL.

Exercising the option doesn't prevent the Lions and their two standouts from further pursuing a contract extension.
