Credit to Ott as well. Like how he handled the rotation and how everyone was in position to succeed virtually all game. I know it's preseason but he appears to have a good handle on coaching this squad.

Suns D has mostly been good in preseason, and quickly adjusting after mistakes. That's a good starting point for the future. Everyone is willing. Fleming is a pleasant surprise on D. Hayes-Davis is smart vet. We just lack a bit size with Oso at 5 and Dunn/Fleming/HD at 4.

It's really encouraging, except for the fact he was playing against Ayton. We need to see man man play against someone who cares.

The Suns roster is giving off vibes of the 2019-20 and 2020-21 group of players.

It may not translate in wins immediately, but they like playing together.

Hayes-Davis needs to get used to the increase in talent and how he can't do what he did in Europe. He is smart and should get used to it but it seems he was trying to shoulder too much of an offensive load early on.

Kind of crazy that a preseason game where Book, Grayson, Brooks, Jalen, Mark Williams, and Royce didnt play was more encouraging than the team's been the last 2 years.

Kind of crazy that a preseason game where Book, Grayson, Brooks, Jalen, Mark Williams, and Royce didnt play was more encouraging than the team's been the last 2 years.

It's hard to put into words. I used to go to Suns practices and watch the players fight to earn a roster spot. Didn't care about the score but admired the heart and effort. I'd come away feeling it's a shame everyone couldn't make the roster.

Along the way you meet the players, coaches and sometimes their family. It was special. They made you feel like a part of the team. These are the vibes I'm getting from this group.

As I mentioned earlier, Jared Butler is not on a guaranteed deal. The hunger is there.
