Kyler is the type of player on a deep team that could likely come in and do some damage. We have seen "mid" QB's be serviceable enough on really really talented teams be just enough. Kyler is never going to be that phenom player who will lead your team to the promised land. He is not and never will be a QB to transform your franchise. We have a large enough sample size.

has murray had a substantial contact injury

There was the infamous lowering-of-the-shoulder injury vs. MIA in 2020.

Pretty much the only time in his NFL career that Murray tried to truck somebody, but he busted up his shoulder doing so.

My boy gets nicked up pretty easy I'm afraid.

Hope I am wrong but I think since his knee injury he has lost his mojo. Playing scared.
He seems to have lost his mojo in the Green Bay game in 2021, not with the knee injury.

There are a lot of conflating factors, but since the ACL tear, he's recovered to a bit better than his pre-injury state, but nowhere near his pre-GB level. Leaving out his rookie season when he was just learning how to play in the NFL:

2020-GB 2021 (23 gms): 15-8, 69.0%, 2.53 TD:Int, 1.9 pass TD/gm, 7.8 y/a, 100.7 rating, 1.9 sacks/gm, 7.7 rushes for 41 y/gm
GB '21-NE '22 (18 gms): 5-13, 66.0%, 1.75 TD:Int, 1.2 pass TD/gm, 6.4 y/a, 86.9 rating, 2.2 sacks/gm, 6.2 rushes for 40 y/gm
2023 - 2025 (30 gms): 13-17, 67.8%, 1.95 TD:Int, 1.2 pass TD/gm, 6.8 y/a, 91.6 rating, 2.1 sacks/gm, 5 rushes for 33 y/gm

Maybe that GB game, ending his 7-0 streak, showed the league something about how to defend him??

I feel like it's increased risk aversion. Maybe a loose wheel came off at GB, and the stress/decline of Kliff went hand in hand with Kyler - and adaptations stopped. But under Gannon, they seem to encourage risk aversion except when needed, which is just a bad mix with a person already risk averse - that makes the HC/possibly OC/QB all risk averse, requiring luck to win anything of substance, even with high floor play.

"Is the Kyler Murray era over?"

Good point in here too about Cards game management in the RZ on the last drive.

I like to think it will make him pull his head out of his ass, but I think he's the type that never thinks it's him.

I'm sure when he leaves he's the type to crap all over the org rather than take any blame.
It seems like he has 0 self awareness. I don't think anything will ever get through to him, as far as taking the necessary steps to be better. Oh well...not our problem for much longer.

Before next season:

"Hold my beer! As I sign KM to a 5 year $350 mil extension."-Michael Bidwill

"Kyler's my guy."-Gannon as he's signed to a 5 year extension.

Jags are 4-1 and on track for the playoffs, why would they be moving key pieces? Lawrence hasn't been great, although he has spells, but he's also better than Kyler and winning.
This didn't age well and it's only 9 days later. Whoops
