I think whats tough about this is Kyler still took a big hit.

Something in his brain (heart) has to accept that he needs to process faster or more importantly just accept you might get hit anyway. So just throw it.

I've mentioned elsewhere, but just do the Eli fade throw if you have too. It makes it look bad when we say its just an interior pressure problem for Kyler when he does plays like that.

Gannon came out and said they ran things completely different. DaHilg is right, not the "same offense"
What things? I have not heard or seen that quoted anywhere. But what's he going to say, "we ran basically the same offense, but JB ran it much better than Kyler"? Gannon has to protect this "star" QB who makes big bucks and not hurt his little feelings. Whether he wants him gone or not.

Not to mention of course they ran things differently. You don't make a game plan for Kyler and think is going to work with Jacoby. I mean they are two completely different QBs.

People go on about Kyler needing a great O line. Kyler has one of the lowest pressure rates in the league.

He's been pressured on just 16.5% of his drop backs. He's been hurried 7 times and hit 9 times in 5 games while being pressured 32 times.

On Sunday, Brissett was hurried 9 time and hit 10 times. That's more in one game than Kyler in 5. And he was pressured 21 times (43.8%) in just that one game.

Yet still blew the doors off anything Kyler has done all year.

I wonder if the O line struggled on Sunday because they normally protect for 9 yards drops?

You can pin your ears back against a pedestrian athlete in Jacoby compared to playing contain against an athlete like Kyler. I don’t remember OL ever being a major liability since Kyler been here.

Also that. But success gets rewarded. Failure will mean the OC moves to trying other things. Brissett was passing well and completing downfield, so we called more of what was working. Kyler has simple not done that all year.
It's just drowning man syndrome. A downing person will grasp at anything. Their grasping at things that prove Kyler isn't the dude

Yup, pocket passers put more pressure on the secondary to stay disciplined while mobile QBs put more pressure on rushers to stay disciplined.

I have been a Kyler backer but something seems off right now with him. Seems to me since he came back from the knee injury he seems scared most times. I understand the Oline sucks but how many times has he just fallen down to take the sack like he is afraid of getting hurt.

It's weird. We keep hoping for step up but he's actually been getting gradually worse since 2022. This season is by far his worst in the NFL. Rookie Kyler was better than this.
