Did the cap implications make them stick with him? Or was it the fact that the organization still thought K1 was the franchise qb (their words)?
Either way doesn’t matter. After yet another last season meltdown they were idiots if they thought he was the QBOTF and cap implications didn’t force the Broncos to stay with Russel Wilson when he was choking their cap coming off a 8-9 season. They jettisoned his ass, went to the playoffs anyway and the rest is history.

SOOOOO.... the real question is, would Kyler Murray have made more money playing baseball? My answer is no! Best case scenario is that he could be Corbin Carroll without the power numbers. Comparing to Corbin's contract of 8 years for $111M, I am pretty sure Kyler fleeced the Cardinals for life! There is no way to know for sure but closely watching baseball for over 40 years and see him play baseball collegiately, he made the better decision to fleece the Bidwill's.

Kyler gone
Do NOT draft Dante Moore
Draft a 2nd or 3rd round QB
Bring someone in to compete with Jacoby
I like this idea. My plan would be to trade for Will Levis and let him and a 2nd/3rd rounder battle it out. I don't know why so many people are against Carson Beck as a flyer. But watching him win two national championships and be successful (arguably) at Miami seems like a good plan. Sure Beck has pressed too much and makes bad decisions at times but he has all of the tools. We will see if he has the head for it as someone will pick him up and I hope it's up if we have Jacoby and Levis.

I mean, Beck is old, limited player, and willing to throw his teammates under the bus. That said, he has a lot of college snaps and should have a shorter run way to being ready to take snaps.

Well, that's the writing on the wall. Murray's done.
What the cards should do is fix the o-line, keep JB but draft any QB at least 6'2. JB has proven the offense works pretty well with a taller QB. Unfortunately, JB is not mobile and has a slow release, but the o-line can help with that, temporarily.
Get your RB1 and RB2 back or draft to fill that role. That will help keep defenses honest and not just blitz knowing all we do is pass.
That's the easy part. The hard part is fixing the 4th quarter, let's play soft D because we're leading AND the soft Offense because we're leading mentality.

My solution is having the coaching staff wear shock collars. Any play call that egregiously fails will automatically trigger the collar to shock the coach responsible for that call, in turn correcting his thinking in the future.

Plus, it would be really fun to watch in the highlights.........LOL

Yeah but can we realistically say there is someone better to take a chance on? We aren't going to be top 3 so we are going to have to give up some capital to move to get one of the top QBs. Plus, what assurances do we really have that one of the top Qbs are going to be the answer. The draft is educated speculation at best. I'll be watching OSU and Indiana tomorrow night to see if the Indiana guy can stack up to a quality defense.

For what it's worth, I think we have too many holes to give up the capital. If we release Kyler or trade him, we are going to have to eat some of his contract. Free agents aren't going to want to come to AZ unless they get paid more than what they are worth. We have to hope we can trade for someone like Levis (big hope!) or trade with SF for a guy like Wilson (doubt they trade within the division).

I wonder whether Payton would bring him in to "back up" Nix? Nix has been kinda lousy and Payton has experience making a short QB a hall of famer.

Of course, Payton would need to believe that Murray would completely change his stripes and commit to studying film and working his ass off outside the weight room. Maybe being benched and traded would open Murray's eyes, and he'd finally buy into a coach with Payton's gravitas.
