I know we find this hard to believe but it makes sense. Either way you’re going to pay him. Brissett lesser salary balances out that burden.
Pay him to stay and not be the starter or pay him to leave .
Its
Pretty clear from
The actual quote that Schrager is just speculating here and saying that paying Kyler that money isn’t unimaginable anymore after what happened with Russ

There are a lot of teams out there who will believe that that the Cardinals did not put him in a position to win. The Darnold, Mayfair, stories will make them consider him. I could see him traded to the Raiders or some team like that.

Interesting comparison to Jay Cutler

If there's one thing I'm sure about it's that he cares about football.

His problem, from what I can see, is that to get better you have to recognise the flaws in your game and work on them. He was on the radio after week 2 or 3, I think it was Wolf and Luke, but one of AZsports, and was asked about his downfield passing issues and he outright said he has no accuracy issues. Despite statistically being the least accurate downfield passer in the last 3 years. There's the old "I see everything" quote from the NYT years back too.

This lack of self awareness and belief that he's already great is his issue. I think that he thinks he's already good enough to win superbowls and it's just the talent around him.

The greats know they can always get better. They know their weaknesses and work on them relentlessly.

I think Kyler's issue is he doesn't think he has any weaknesses.

Your best assessment of him. And while debatable, I definitely won't argue with any of this.

Every pro athlete’s “camp” cares about optics so I’d say it’s a fair take.
Even the mouth of Sauron, Ron Wolfley, said the IR move smelled fishy today. So did everyone else on state radio 98.7.

If people believe 100% the move to IR was all about an injury… one mind you that has NEVER even been diagnosed/disclosed as to what it actually is publicly… I have some waterfront property in Yuma to sell them.

all of these things can be true at the same time:

Its a real injury.

If he was playing well, they don't put him on IR and bring him back at first chance (which could have been Dallas)

But since he isn't playing well and is still "injured" -- IR is a face-saving move for him.

The offense has had only 3 total 3 and Outs with Brissett at QB and two of those were in the 1st quarter vs the Colts while he was shaking the rust off.

Under Kyler's last 3 we had,

Titans - 5
Seahawks -2
Niners - 3

The difference is JJ wasn't taken 1 overall, and I doubt the Vikings put up with it for 7 years.

What's strange to me about McCarthy is this is who he was in college - dink and dunk based off a strong run game. I never saw the NFL talent.
Same. He won at Michigan but THEY won because of the run game and an other worldly defense. I was shocked to see him climbing in the draft. My Michigan alum buddies hated me for my takes on jJ. It’s still too early to say he’s Kyler (he’s only started 3 games?). But I still stand by my original assessment.
