The Kansas City Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles in a rematch of Super Bowl LIX this Sunday. The stakes will be lower in Week 2, but players still haven't forgotten about the disappointing finish.
Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones spoke with reporters on Thursday, expressing his eagerness to face off with the Eagles again for the first time since Super Bowl LIX.
"Listen, it's a very fortunate situation to make it to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, we didn't win. It gives us a little bit more of an edge that we didn't win, that we get to have our opportunity to play these guys (Philadelphia Eagles) again, against a heck of a team, starting with (Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback) Jalen Hurts and those outside receivers of his, and just a heck of a team. (Philadelphia Eagles Running Back) Saquon (Barkley), you can go on and on about the talent that these guys have on their offense. For us, it's also a challenge to play them again, but also get some payback."
Jones didn't have his best outing in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers. He finished the game with two assisted tackles and was unable to pressure quarterback Justin Herbert consistently.
