The Kansas City Chiefs signed rookie running back Elijah Young as a free agent after the 2025 NFL draft.
A Knoxville, Tennessee native, Young played with the Missouri Tigers from 2020 through 2022 before transferring to play for the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers in 2023 and 2024.
In 56 games played at the collegiate level, Young rushed for 1764 yards and seven touchdowns in 384 attempts. He also recorded 91 catches for 766 receiving yards and six touchdowns in the passing game.
Though it is unlikely that Young will push for a significant role in Kansas City's offense as a rookie, he could be an ideal candidate to sign with the Chiefs' practice squad after training camp and the preseason.
Elijah Young currently dons the No. 34 jersey for the Kansas City Chiefs, which he shares with veteran defensive back Mike Edwards.
According to OverTheCap.com, Young will receive a base salary of $840,000 in addition to a prorated signing bonus of $1,000 in 2025.
