Trying not to complain about this game but both starts he has had his year he has been picked on badly. This is a huge liability. Can clemons do better? What happened to Alfanso Denard?

Of course opposing QB's are going to pick on Bethel...who else are they going to pick on? By all measures, Bethel has been holding his own decently for how much he's been targeted.

He stopped them three times in a row on the goal line stand. He's essentially a rookie playing the position and has been playing pretty well all things considered.

No way, his lunch was getting eatin by James Jones which is probably the worst receiever he will see the rest pf the year.

Devante dropped the TD and he still gave up the catch, if he didnt make that easy tackle he would have been cut on the catch.

Plus a huge PI.
Bethel is getting picked on for sure, but he won't face another QB as good as Rodgers the rest of this season, except Brady.

Thought he played well today. Of course they are going to pick on any CB when you got Peterson on the other side.

Bethel played well. He had the only INT for us and it came at a crucial time of the game. Had they scored 7 after the Palmer turnover, this game is 10-7 going into half. That's a huge turnaround. Huge. Instead it was 17-0. The difference that made in the game can't be understated. It took Lacy completely out of the game in the 2nd half. Bethel played well.

People in the game day thread were saying he was being picked on in the 2nd half. I say good. First, he needs the play as a 2nd corner--he led the team in tackles and INT's--and secondly it means PP is (again) locking down his man. No team has 2 #1 CB's. We may have the best in PP, that means Bethel is going to get (picked on) thrown at. Doesn't mean he sucks, just means PP is awesome. Bethel needed this game in a huge way. And he played really well. We held them to 8 points, the Packers, with Aaron freaking Rodgers, it's not like he was giving up TD's galore.

And it's not just that we only gave up 8 points, they had to throw early in the game, which means we held Rodgers to 8 points. Bethel is fine. Totally fine. Great game by him.

A spot starter at CB getting beat by a vet QB and WR combo is to be expected. I like what I see from Bethel.

Lord even when he gives up 46 yards it's still a liability......good to be a cards fan haha

New era, some of these forum posters would hate on Aeneas Williams for giving up some yards and a few catches. Bethel did really well against probably the best QB in the NFL.

You also have to take into account all those times he wasn't thrown at and Rodgers was forced to throw it away or take a sack.

Bethel had some big plays today on ST's

He was getting picked on today by AR because they were going away from PP. Bethel got some good practice today and came up with some big plays. Yes he got worked a few times but responded well.

In my opinion he didn't get "worked" at all. There was one play I rewound a few times when he gave up a catch, where he swiveled his hips, did a 360, and went deep (this is AFTER the catch). He didn't even try to tackle the dude, he went deep and let the underneath LB make the tackle so that no matter what it wasn't a huge gain. That's by design, there's no way that's a player choice to give up the catch and the tackle and retreat deep just in case. Bettcher doesn't get much credit on here, but that's all scheming. Bethel played really well within that scheme.

He is the weak link. Hope he can improve on this game. He is never facing the ball.

Bethel does need to improve on ball awareness but he was always in position to make the play. That's why him getting targeted today was a good thing, he gets practice in real games and the coaches can work on his technique flaws.

Can't wait to see him progress as we march through the playoffs.
