This is the most ridiculously self-indulgent book Douglas Coupland has ever written.

And I loved it. It's hilarious.

He put himself in the bloody book. Who does that? It's Microserfs 2.0 to be sure. Same story, same characters. But they live in some other reality where evil things and bad experiences are shrugged off like so much geek dandruff on the shoulder. You're never really concerned about the characters so much as you can't wait to get to the next chapter to read what other absurd thing Coupland has come up with for these geeks.

Coupland anticipates his reader like no current author, writing with intuitive ease. The book presents an insightful post-modern paradox ... if we're agreeing with the message of the book, why aren't we out living our lives instead of sitting alone reading the book?
