Yeah... this seems like they're going the route of making The Joker an "anti-hero"... which is just flatly stupid. He's a freaking villain... a GREAT villain with layers, especially TDK's Joker.

This has disaster written all over it.

When this dramatically under performs, everyone will be like "DC sucks" but in reality the audience for middle aged white guy lead in an unconventional role is going to wait for it on Netflix

I guess him having Medicare let's him bounce back from butt kickings

It seems like they take themselves too seriously sometimes. This Joker will suffer from constant comparisons to Ledger.

King of Comedy bombed upon release but Txi Driver did well. And bit are over 30 years old. Not sure they are the best comparison.

That said, I’m not sure this movie is needed, art house film or no.

Agreed. I see this trailer and I'm thinking, "So the Joker is now a wannabe comedian/failed clown with an Oedipal complex who's simply fed up with society?"
