Jets Send Three-Word Message on QB Justin Fields originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

The New York Jets haven't been to the NFL postseason since 2010. That is the longest current playoff drought in the league.

But the Jets hope they finally have the quarterback to lead them back to the playoffs in Justin Fields. The team had a short but positive update on the signal-caller at the team's offseason workouts Thursday.

"On the move," the team wrote with a wind emoji. The message was a caption to a video of Fields running against the Jets defense at practice.

Also on Thursday, Fields delivered his own message in front of reporters.

"I think I can be great," Fields said to the media after practice, via ESPN's Rich Cimini. "That's been the goal for me my whole life, my whole career. I think the sky's the limit for this team, for this offense, but we do have a long way to go."

Field is entering his first season with the Jets. He signed a two-year, $40 million contract to join New York this offseason.

The quarterback started six games for the Pittsburgh Steelers last season. Despite leading the team to a 4-2 record, Russell Wilson replaced him in Week 7.

Fields went 10-28 as a starter for the Chicago Bears from 2021-23.

Fields was certainly great with the Ohio State Buckeyes from 2019-20. During his only full season with the program, he threw for 3,273 yards and 41 touchdowns with just three interceptions.

In the COVID-shortened 2020 season, Fields completed 70.2% of his passes for 2,100 yards and 22 touchdowns. The quarterback led the Big Ten in passing yards and touchdowns both seasons.

Fields also took Ohio State to the College Football National Championship Game in 2020. The loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide was Ohio State's only defeat that season.

Fields will look to replicate his college success with the Jets this fall.
