I'm a big jersey guy. I don't truly rep a team until I have a jersey for it. I got a Vick jersey, a Kirkland Steerlers jersey (I got it for Xmas a month before he got released... Bad times!!!), a Lynch Bucs jersey (got it when they went to the NFC Championship game a few years ago), and home and away Plummer jerseys.
I don't know who I'll buy a new Cards jersey for now. I hopefully will be relocating to VA in the late summer, so I'd like to rep someone who anyone will now. Now that Plummer and Boston are gone, that's basically an impossiblity. I'll have to do some thinking. Maybe when we don't draft Leftwich, I'll get the #1's jersey, since he'll definately be there for 4 years.
Regardless, I just wanted to weigh in and say that "generic" jerseys (I assume these are the red fabric, large birds on the shoulder with "00" or "99" or whatever on it and "Arizona" or "Cardinals" on the back ones) suck. So do ones with your name on it. Say in 95 you got a jersey with 89 on it, you'd look pretty stupid going to games last year in that jersey, with "Frank" or "Jones" or whatever on it.
Take a risk and bet that a player that's an all-pro and you like will be there for a while. Steelers fans have been doing it for years. Since the Cards don't have any all-pros right now, get a custom one with someone you like (I'm sure Section 11's Vanden Bosch jersey is already on its way).
I'll be really interested to see whose name NFL.com puts on its 2003 jerseys, since the only ones they've had for the past couple years are 16 and 89.
