Jayden Reed Betting Preview: Season Receiving Yards originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Jayden Reed enters the 2025 NFL season in a great position to surpass expectations for his projected season. Over the last two seasons, Reed has proven himself to be a dynamic and versatile weapon in the Green Bay Packers’ offense. The young wideout is capable of lining up at multiple spots on the field and has established himself as a preferred target of quarterback Jordan Love.
In Week 1 of the 2024 season, Jayden Reed made an immediate statement. He posted 138 receiving yards before Jordan Love was removed with an injury late in the game. Reed’s production took an obvious toll due to Love’s absence and recovery period. Coming off a full offseason, Love should be fully healthy and recovered heading into the 2025 season. Reed’s role in the Green Bay offense will remain prominent with Jordan Love under center for the Packers.
The Packers did add Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden during the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. This move seems to be the main factor that has impacted Jayden Reed’s projected totals with oddsmakers. While Golden brings talent to this receiving core, Reed remains the proven option in a high-powered Green Bay offense that was a top five team in yards per game last season. Reed’s ability to create separation on his routes, stretch the field, and pick up yards after the catch makes him a foundational piece of Green Bay’s passing attack.
Despite what was considered a down year in 2024, Reed still hauled in 857 receiving yards with three games of over 100 receiving yards. He heads into the upcoming season with a stronger supporting cast and a healthy quarterback, leaving no reason why Reed can’t surpass the stats he has posted in his previous years. Additionally, the Packers’ passing game coordinator Jason Vrable reported that Reed has bulked up and gained 10 pounds of muscle this offseason. Reed has also assumed a strong leadership role in the wide receiver room, according to Vrable.
While much of the Packers’ offseason attention has shifted to the rookie Golden, there is strong value in backing an already established receiver. Reed’s proven chemistry with Love, versatile route running, and playmaking ability in an explosive offense are the main factors that will contribute to a strong year.
Best Play: JAYDEN REED OVER 700.5 SEASON RECEIVING YARDS
