The Giants have their new quarterback of the future.
After taking Penn State linebacker Abdul Carter with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Giants were not done on Thursday. Big Blue proceeded to trade back into the first round, making a deal with the Houston Texans to acquire pick No. 25 to take Mississippi quarterback Jaxson Dart.
To do so, the Giants traded the No. 34 pick in this year's draft, along with a third-round pick in 2025 and 2026.
So who is Dart? Here are a few things to know about:
Dart spent his first collegiate season at USC before transferring to Ole Miss. Once he arrived in Oxford, he put up numbers.
A three-year starter, Dart steadily improved his passing yards and touchdown numbers each year. This culminated in a monster season season where he led the SEC with 4,279 passing yards and tied for second with 29 touchdown passes.
He leaves as the program's all-time passing leader with 10,617 yards, surpassing Giants legend Eli Manning.

While Dart put up historic passing numbers in college, he also displayed strong traits as a runner.
He finished his three seasons with Ole Miss with 1,500 rushing yards to go with 12 touchdowns. He may not be asked to run consistently with the Giants, but the speed and vision are there.
These clips, via Yahoo Sports' Nate Tice, highlight Dart's potential as a runner:
Dart's talents certainly elevated the Mississippi program to new heights.
The Utah native set a school record for most wins by a starting quarterback with 28, while also holding the mark for best winning percentage at .737.
As a junior, he led the Rebels to their first ever 11-win season.
