The Detroit Lions concluded the 2024 NFL regular season with a franchise-record 15-2 mark, capturing the NFC North title for the second consecutive year under head coach Dan Campbell.

Their dominance was evident in both offense and defense, with the Lions leading the league in points scored (564, 33.2 per game) and finishing seventh in points allowed (342, 20.1 per game), highlighting a +222 point differential.

Central to Detroit’s 2024 success was veteran center Frank Ragnow, who announced his decision to retire on Monday at just 29 years old.

Shortly after Ragnow made his announcement, Lions quarterback Jared Goff reshared his teammate's retirement post on his own Instagram story with the message, "THE GREATEST ❤️."

After being selected 20th overall in the 2018 NFL Draft out of Arkansas, Ragnow steadily emerged as a cornerstone of the Lions’ offensive line.

By 2024, he had started all 96 games of his career, earning four Pro Bowl nods (2020, 2022–2024) and three second-team All-Pro selections (2020, 2023, 2024).

His run-blocking and pass protection helped anchor the number one scoring offense in the NFL.

Goff, meanwhile, just delivered his most prolific season in Detroit, throwing for 4,629 yards, 37 touchdowns and a 72.4% completion rate, ranking in the top five in each category.

A former No. 1 overall pick by the Los Angeles Rams in 2016, Goff revitalized his career in Detroit, leading the Lions to their first playoff win since 1991 and an appearance in the NFC Championship Game in the 2023-24 season.

In 2024, he earned his fourth Pro Bowl selection and set an NFL record by completing all 18 of his passes (minimum 11 attempts) in a Week 4 blowout of the Seattle Seahawks.
