NFL Salaries are soaring, and thanks to Brock Purdy, Philadelphia's Super Bowl MVP, Jalen Hurts could be looking towards a raise in the coming months. Tom Pelissero reports that the San Francisco 49ers have agreed on a new five-year, $265 million contract extension that includes $181 million in total guarantees, including $165.05 million in the first three new years of a deal that runs through 2030.
Purdy was entering the final year of his four-year rookie contract.
With the move now complete, we're examining how that deal will impact the Eagles' star quarterback in the future.
In 2025, Purdy is scheduled to make a $5.34 million base salary, a significant jump from his less than $1 million base salary in the previous three seasons. The 49ers have benefited from Purdy being the very last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, and thus one of the cheapest draft contracts money can buy.
Hurts signed a five-year, $255,000,000 contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, including a $23,294,000 signing bonus, $179,399,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $51,000,000. In 2025, Hurts will earn a base salary of $1,170,000 and a signing bonus of $41,330,000 while carrying a cap hit of $21,869,800 and a dead cap value of $107,302,400. For Hurts, 2026 is the final year of guaranteed money, and the Eagles could look to create salary cap space. Hurts will make $20,196,000 in guaranteed salary in 2026, with a cap hit of $31,971,800.
