The Jacksonville Jaguars hope a new regime can fix what's gone wrong with the team over the last couple of years, and that begins Week 1. Whether they'll be on the road or at home remains to be seen, however, with the NFL set to release all 32 teams' schedules this week.

The Jaguars will play the AFC West and NFC West this season in addition to their divisional opponents, the New York Jets, Cincinnati Bengals and the Carolina Panthers, after finishing third place in the AFC South last year.

Jacksonville's 2025 offseason has been an offseason of change. The franchise hired Liam Coen as the team's head coach, adding James Gladstone as general manager and Tony Boselli as the team's EVP of Football Operations. The new three-headed monster in Jacksonville makes the first dramatic change in the building since owner Shad Khan took over in 2012.

The team's new brass didn't waste time putting their stamp on the new era of Jaguars football, either. The franchise made a bold move to trade up in the NFL Draft to select Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter with the second-overall pick.

Jaguars strength of schedule

The Jaguars in 2025 have the sixth-easiest schedule, according to Sharp Football Analysis. They hold the third-easiest schedule in the AFC behind the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills. The Jaguars rank just two spots ahead of the Tennessee Titans, who have the eighth-easiest schedule in the NFL.

Travis Hunter effect? Jaguars prime-time games

With the addition of WR/CB Travis Hunter, the Jaguars could see themselves in a couple of prime-time games this year. Teams can play a maximum of six prime time games. The Jaguars will see themselves in a standalone game for their matchup in London.

Last year, Jacksonville was slated to play two prime-time games, one against the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football in Week 3 and again against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football in Week 9. The NFL flexed the Jaguars out of their Sunday night matchup, however, leaving them with one prime-time night game on the schedule.

The Jaguars played two standalone games during their back-to-back London series in Weeks 6 and 7.

Jaguars predictions, picks: How many games will Jacksonville win?

The early over-under on wins, as set by Betmgm.com, has Jacksonville at 7.5 games, a better season after going 4-13 in 2024. That would put Jacksonville tied for second in the AFC South with the Indianapolis Colts (7.5), behind the Houston Texans (9.5) and ahead of the Tennessee Titans (5.5).

The Ravens, Bills, Chiefs and Eagles hold the best win-total odds at 11.5. The Cleveland Browns have the lowest predicted win total at 4.5 games.

What do Jaguars want to see on 2025 schedule?

The Jaguars will want to start this season at home after starting the last three years on the road. Jacksonville has gone 1-2 in season openers the last three years, falling to the Miami Dolphins last season, defeating the Colts in 2023 and losing to the Washington Commanders in 2022.

For Jacksonville, though the team has a schedule packed with long trips, Coen said during rookie minicamp that he did not make any schedule requests to the league. That would be up to EVP Tony Boselli.

“I kind of haven’t really requested much. I let [Executive Vice President of Football Operations] Tony Boselli handle that. It’s more so let’s just remain fluid. We have to understand that yes we can ask for some things, but ultimately it’s the league decision and we’ve got have the mindset to go play anybody, anytime, any place," Coen said.
