STARKVILLE — Mississippi State football has its first open week of the 2025 season.

The Bulldogs (4-2, 0-2 SEC) are not playing on Oct. 11. Their next game is at Florida (2-3, 1-1) on Oct. 18 (3:15 p.m. CT, SEC Network).

MSU and second-year coach Jeff Lebby won four straight games to open the season, including an upset of Arizona State where fans stormed the field at Davis Wade Stadium, but have lost two games in a row. It lost 41-34 to Tennessee in overtime, then 31-9 at Texas A&M on Oct. 4. Mississippi State's SEC losing streak is at 14 games.

Is Mississippi State playing today?​

No, Mississippi State is off in Week 7 after falling to Texas A&M last week. Its remaining six games are all against SEC opponents.

Mississippi State's next open date is Nov. 22, the week before it hosts Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl.
