At 2-4, the Arizona Cardinals' 2025 season is already in danger of a complete free fall. Preventing an all-out collapse is going to be even harder without the Cardinals' starting quarterback.

As Arizona hosts the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, it is preparing for a second straight game without Kyler Murray, who hurt his foot in an embarrassing loss to the Tennessee Titans a few weeks ago. In fact, Murray will likely not return to the Cardinals' lineup until early November, after Arizona's bye week, to give him an ample amount of time to rest.

That isn't the best news for a Cardinals team that could really use some good fortune anywhere right now:

Murray is one of the more reliable and most important players the Cardinals have. Surviving without him for at least another week is likely paramount to Arizona's season.

Who is Kyler Murray's backup on the Cardinals?

Jacoby Brissett is Murray's backup. Brissett is a 10-year veteran who already helped the Cardinals almost pull off an upset of the Indianapolis Colts in Murray's stead earlier this season.
