You are the one that doesn't understand.

Your insurance rates are affected by what happens to the rest of the pool and you subsidize some of them.

Like I said earlier most in the US have no clue what socialism is, you just proved it by using about Venezuela as an example.

Oh and I could move to Norway if I wanted to.

I think the concern of socialism is more of giving the government the keys to everything than anything else. Private insurance and etc isnt quite the socialism people are concerned about as there is still a lot of private enterprise screwing us over instead of only the government.

Yep, the health care situation in America is all about greed and power.

I'm lovin all these new "scary" TV ads from the healthcare industry. Hope people are smart enough to see through that crap.

The key point in that comment is "everything"

There are many things the government can do better that private companies, the are also many things better done by a collaboration of the two and yes a lot of things are better done in the private sector.

The is no best one way and ideologies that say that are wrong .. period.

I'm not taking a stance here, to be clear.

I am just mostly talking about those who impose it and commenting that it is not just "socialism bad" with everyone even though there is that contingent.

For example even, a lot of people view medicare for all as government run healthcare, when it is not, it is government paid healthcare which is a big difference. When they hear this they think VA for all which is government run healthcare instead of looking at Medicare which is government paid healthcare.

I am for government paid healthcare but totally against government run healthcare because...well....the VA sucks.

I would think if the left candidates would explain this more, they might convince more people to get on board and alleviate the concern of "the government will be picking and choosing what treatment I get and when" stuff.

I've said this many times in this forum but I'll do it again.

I used to live with government run healthcare and was vastly preferable to what we have ... vastly.

And in addition you could get supplemental insurance to boost your coverage to say reduce wait times if you wanted to. The supplemental insurance was not terribly expensive even my elderly mother got it to speed up hip replacement. She would have gotten it on the NHS but would have taken 2 years.

Oh and the government does not provide the services, that is private doctors.

The point being everybody gets a primary care and a certain level of other care, nobody goes bankrupt from medical bills. You can always add more.

I see little downside, we are already paying for it. Folks with insurance pay now plus the overhead for insurance, we pay for folks without insurance via ER visits and medicare/medicaid. Heck it might even reduce costs .. anything is possible :)

While I agree with everything you say, you know it doesn’t matter what the left says. Fox will yell “socialist!” and the pack will go back to thinking “bad” bc they’re incapable of thinking for themselves.

and if your house catches on fire for gods sake don't expect firemen to put it out because that's socialism too.

It never ceases to amaze me how the people who complain most about socialism have no idea what it really is or how often they benefit from it.

I don't think he has an understanding of anything really. He always leaves these drive by posts & never replies to the rebuttals.
