I don’t have the injury details, but I find it curious they didn’t designate Blount for recall. I presume he’s out for the season. I had speculated they would cut Blount, keeping Crawford. I was surprises Fehoko made it through potential claims to the practice squad. As it turns out the Cards ended up with Crawford and Fehoko on the 53, which I believe is where they wanted to be. Sad about Blount, he’s a good guy.

You don't designate for return until the player has been on IR for at least 4 weeks. After 4 weeks have passed you can designate for return at any time. Once you designate for return then you have 21 days for the player to practice before he has to be on the active roster.

You can bring back 8 players from IR during the Regular season.

A new rule this season is that playoff teams can bring back two additional players from IR during the playoffs.

I was not aware of that! Unfortunately, regarding Joey Blount, I believe I heard Gannon say that he's out "for the season" with a neck injury.

Fehoko was released not waived. He has 4 full accrued season, so he is not subject to the waiver wire. He can decide his own fate. He knew he was the next man up on the roster.
