Anyone playing?

Ingress is a very cool GPS-based game on a mobile phone. A lot like geocaching. You locate and hack portals, take them over, make links, etc.

One side is the Enlightenment and the other is the Resistance. Along the way you earn medals and badges based on accomplishments and missions.

If anyone is interested, shoot me a PM and I'll send you an invite. It is Google-based so a Gmail address is needed.

It looks cool and frightening at the same time. :|

I had it on my phone for a while, but never took the time to figure it out. Sounded pretty awesome though. Perhaps I'll give it another try.

My son is a big time player. I drive him around sometimes so he can take down various portals and fields. Its great watching the map when you take down a huge field that covers miles and miles.

Sweet !! My wife and I drive around together acquiring portals, attacking the enemy, and taking down fields.

Introduced her mom and step-dad to the game and they go out on Ingress dates - they see a movie and then go play Ingress. :)

Awesome. So are you all part of the Resistance or the Enlightened? I think my son is on the green team, whatever that is.

We are in Southern Oregon and my son found these 3 huge triangular fields stretching deep into California. But the northern points were along I-5 where we live. So on Christmas break, we went on a little drive and took them all down. It was pretty fun.

I started playing about a month ago. It gets me off the couch and away from my computer for a while. Pretty fun.

I usually go for a walk around work and hack/take over the dozen or so portals nearby.

Go Resistance!

Such a great motivator to get out and walk around, especially with missions at parks and downtown areas.

I've only done one mission and it was at a cemetery. Kind of felt wrong...

There is a portal at the big Casino Arizona sign that I have captured a few times just so I could link it to portals near my work. However every time I park near the sign, security is right there looking at me like I'm some kind of criminal. LOL

:lmao:

I've done a couple at Riverview Park, one at a fairgrounds, and a few in neighborhoods near our house. Just enough to earn a medal on my Agent page. We want to do some which require you to do them in a specific order and reward you with a mural-like (or postcard-like) display on your agent page.

Just got a new phone and signed up with my son's team. Will try to take down some fields when he comes home to tell me what the heck to do. :)

Just leveled up to Level 9. Such a fun game. Great for getting out and about and walking around. Met some other players too. Really a social game with the Comm and the G+ profiles, etc.

I might try it but if I need to get bailed out can we pool some money? LOL..

You know what would be really cool? Using this game with something like Google glass or something similar. Although I am sure people are already going to see you as weird just playing as is.

Does anyone have a Jarvis Virus? I guess it will flip a portal if you deploy it. My son has 3 of them. I want!

Wow, nice job! That's awesome. I just hit level 4 so I am really lagging.

Thanks !!

I have about 8 Jarvis, unfortunately they turn the portals green. :D

To turn them blue, you need an ADA Refractor (opposite of Jarvis). :jedi:
