The Indiana Fever’s 2025 season has been punctuated by a string of milestones.
On July 1, the Fever claimed their first-ever Commissioner's Cup with a 74–59 victory over the Minnesota Lynx at Target Center, securing both the trophy and a $500,000 prize pool.
Off the court, Gainbridge Fieldhouse is set to host the WNBA All-Star Game and related events for the first time in franchise history, with tickets selling out in just seven hours when they went on sale April 29.
Wednesday’s game against the New York Liberty featured another milestone, but this time for veteran guard Sophie Cunningham, who officially suited up for her 200th career WNBA game.
The Fever posted on X during the game to celebrate the moment, saying, "Congrats to Sophie Cunningham on reaching 200 career games
."
Selected 13th overall by the Phoenix Mercury in the 2019 WNBA Draft, Cunningham developed into a dependable scorer and defender, averaging 7.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.7 steals over her first six seasons in Phoenix.
On January 31, she was traded to Indiana in a four-team deal that also sent Alyssa Thomas to Phoenix, DiJonai Carrington to the Dallas Wings and Natasha Cloud to the Connecticut Sun, solidifying Indiana’s veteran depth chart.
Through 17 appearances this season, Cunningham has averaged 6.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.9 steals in 22.8 minutes per game, shooting 41.5% from the field, 38.9% from three and 84.6% at the free-throw line.

The Fever arrived at Barclays Center on Wednesday with a 12–10 record and third place in the WNBA’s Eastern Conference, holding the third-highest scoring offense in the league with 84.5 points per game.
Between showcasing the league’s stars this upcoming weekend and mounting a late-season playoff push, Indiana will lean on veterans like Cunningham to anchor the rotation and climb the rankings.
