I think Levis is the biggest factor in what the Cards will do

I still read this board daily but haven't posted in a couple of years. Here is what I keep seeing as a Kentucky/Cardinals fan. While the National media and pundits were beating Levis up the last couple of months the Kentucky media has stayed consistent that he wouldn't get past Indy at 4. They were all over him at the combine, at his pro day, on his visit there and brought most of the front office and coaches to meet with him in Lexington as well. Kept hearing Indy, Titans and Vikings were the teams locked in on him. Living close enough to Nashville to hear their talk radio every day I know the fans are completely against it but sounds like the team is ready to offer a HAUL to move up and get him. I think Indy had hoped to sit at 4 and get Levis but surely, they know Tennessee will jump them now. I know rumors came out today that he is going to Carolina #1 but I just don't see it, should be Young. If Texans go defense at 2 then either Indy moves up to 3 to get him or the Titans do. As it gets closer to the draft, I am starting to think that the Titans or Indy jumps up to 2 and takes Levis there, which will diminish the teams looking to come up to 3.

I personally think staying at 3 and taking Anderson is the smart move but it sure doesn't sound like the front office agrees. If the Cards are truly looking to trade down and get additional picks, they have to hope Levis is still on the board at 3. My 2-cent opinion is that we trade with Indy at 4 and hopefully still get Anderson. As a lifelong Ky fan, I am torn on Levis, all the natural talent you could ever ask for but a ton of flaws. Not fair to judge him off 2022 our Offensive Coordinator was horrific, and the OL was worse than that. Look at 21 with Liam Coen as the OC (left to become Rams OC in 22 and now back at UK) to see Levis in a pro-style offense and playing well. Problem with him is bad pocket presence, locks on to receivers and not great touch. No worries of the Cardinals taking him so I can watch his career without throwing things at the TV out of frustration with him.

A Kentucky player I think will outperform his draft spot is CB Carrington Valentine, who the Cardinals brought in for a visit. Believe he will be a star.

As a fellow Kentucky fan & season ticket holder I can agree with a whole lot of what you said. However, had Liam Cohen not left for the Rams last season the flaws you & I know he has would've been corrected, mainly locking onto a WR too long. The kid has a very strong arm & is tough as nails. Scored 93% on the wonder lick test which was tied for 2nd amongst all the QB's in this draft class. I would love to see the Colts trade up one spot with us & take him giving us an extra pick.

They no longer use the wonderlic.. it's more of a cognitive test, that reveals more about their ability to play the game of football.

Lots of chatter on him but most top guys aren’t buying it. Smokescreen?
One thing I've heard that might be behind it. A sportsbook forum had a guy claiming to be friends with Levis, saying Levis had been told he would be taken #1. Since then, the post got a lot of social media attention and betting odds for Levis to be taken #1 or 2 have dramatically increased. I assume that betting on the draft isn't very popular and it doesn't take too much to move the line for a player like Levis. I think shifting Vegas odds might be enough to cause chatter by itself this close to the draft.
