Which of the eight NFL division winners from 2024 are the most vulnerable in 2025?

CBS Sports recently asked that question, ranking the eight division winners from least vulnerable to most vulnerable. Cody Benjamin writes that the Kansas City Chiefs are the least vulnerable despite a stacked AFC West, while the Los Angeles Rams are the most vulnerable.

Where are the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles?

Benjamin ranks the Eagles at No. 5, right in the middle, and offers the following analysis:

History is working against the reigning Super Bowl champions, because there hasn't been a repeat division winner in the NFC East since the Eagles claimed consecutive titles way back in 2001-2004. The upstart Washington Commanders could also be a force to be reckoned with as Jayden Daniels, the reigning rookie sensation at quarterback, gets added veteran support. The Dallas Cowboys also have a few more toys on both sides of the ball. Yet the New York Giants are perpetually rebuilding, and the Birds still possess some of the game's top talent.

Yes, history is working against the Eagles here. But all records or streaks are made to be broken. At some point, there will be a repeat division winner in the NFC East. Philadelphia remains the NFC East's top team, but the Commanders are closing the gap. Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys will be much better in 2025 with quarterback Dak Prescott back under center.

The key for Washington is whether it did enough to slow down Philly's running game. If the Commanders' run defense improves during the offseason, then Washington could be the Eagles' top challenger. If not, the Eagles will be well on their way to winning the division again.
