The Wisconsin Badgers suffered a disappointing loss to the Maryland Terrapins last weekend, putting them at 2-2 going into their bye week.

Ahead of the game, it was as must-win as it could get for the Badgers, who face five more ranked opponents in 2025 as a part of a loaded conference schedule. With the loss to Maryland, there may be only one more game this season where the Badgers are favored, if that.

That leads us to the question: how many more games will the Badgers win in 2025?

ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) currently projects the Badgers to win just 3.9 games in 2025, meaning that one or two more is the likelihood in their simulations.

If Wisconsin wins just two more games, that would be its fewest since 1995, excluding the shortened COVID-19 season. Looking at the schedule, here are Wisconsin’s remaining games:

Week 6: @ No. 19 Michigan

Week 7: vs. Iowa

Week 8: vs. No. 1 Ohio State

Week 9: @ No. 6 Oregon

Week 11: vs. Washington

Week 12: @ No. 11 Indiana

Week 13: vs. No. 23 Illinois

Week 14: @ Minnesota

Looking at the schedule, Iowa may be the only game that the Badgers are favored in currently. And even that could change after the Hawkeyes beat Rutgers 38-28 in the Big Ten opener.

Wisconsin has struggled to shrug off losses over the past two years, and that month of October is looking brutal currently. Outside of the ranked opponents, the Badgers have Iowa, Washington, and Minnesota.

Washington is no joke and could very well be a top-25 team at that point (argument they’re already one). They have one of the best offenses in the country and a strong quarterback-running back duo with Demond Williams Jr. and Jonah Coleman.

Minnesota has looked good enough as well with Drake Lindsey at quarterback, losing to Cal in a 27-14 game to be at 2-1 currently. They’re beatable, but the Badgers are on the road and are very unlikely to be favored in that one.

It’s shaping up to be a tough year for the Badgers, and the projections aren’t in their favor.
