South Korea has done as good a job as any country of containing coronavirus -- and now, baseball is being played there, with opening day slated for late April. At ESPN, a look inside how Korea is doing it, through the eyes of Americans playing ball there: es.pn/34d3B4Fpic.twitter.com/QyGEs35vMg

Lotte Giants players wore masks because a teammate developed a slight fever and they wanted to be safe. This is how good coronavirus policy works. Think of others. He wound up covid-, thankfully, but it's an illustrative moment. More with ⁦‪@Alden_Gonzalez‬⁩: es.pn/34d3B4F

This is why the goofy season in Arizona nonsense is so premature and ridiculous.

Baseball's fate in Korea, Japan shows best- and worst-case scenarios for MLB

As Major League Baseball waits for the conditions to be right to see if it can salvage its 2020 season, the fate of baseball in two Asian nations has illustrated the best- and worst-case scenarios.

The prime minister of South Korea gave the go-ahead for the KBO, the country's top pro league, to begin its season without the presence of fans. According to a report, teams are preparing for games to get going May 1.

South Korea has been one of the success stories during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, thanks to widespread testing, and the number of new reported cases in that country was in single digits on Saturday.

Baseball is officially coming back. At least in one country.

After a month-long shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, South Korea’s top-flight Korean Baseball Organization announced Tuesday that it will begin playing the regular season on May 5, according to the Yonhap News Agency. Preseason games in empty stadiums have already begun.

Per the Associated Press, the league said it plans to play its full 144-game regular season, but without its All-Star game and with the first round of the playoffs shortened from a best-of-five series to a best-of-three.

Why is Matt Williams coaching in Korea? Surprised he can find coaching work in the US.

There's a difference between being a Manager and a Coach.

Not everyone has what it takes to be the guy in the hot seat. From my observations of Matty over the past 40 or so years
(including when the Giants demoted him back to the Phoenix Giants as a player), he is not cut out to be the guy at the top
in Major League baseball. It will be interesting to see how it eventually plays out in Korea.
